Willing to pay even more for 3D? 17:15 25/03/2010, Christopher Campbell, 3-D, 3D, Alice in Wonderland 3-D aliceinwonderland3-D, the time, how to train your dragon, howtotrainyourdragon, fares, ticketprices, Cinematical
The biggest complaint about 3D movies, except the glasses annoying, is the price. All Films 3D has a nailed on penalty of a few dollars, which can really add up - especially since most 3D press so far have been family films. He hoped that eventually the screen format and became quite popular and common that the price will reduce at least some, if not equal to that of a normal film. Of course, this is Hollywood we're talking about, so instead we can expect an increase in the price of a movie in 3D, now that is a success.

According to Variety, the big bump begins this week with the release of How to Train Your Dragon. Apparently, a survey of Wall Street believes that certain channels are raising their ticket prices by 26% from the 3D version of the new feature, DreamWorks Animation. That is the result of 10 standard 3D cinemas surcharges rising by 8.3% and IMAX 3D on a 9.9% surcharge. Average Cost of adults in 3D will now be $ 14.73 instead of $ 13.60-size screens and $ 16.63 instead of $ 15.13 for IMAX. Some cinemas are reported to increase prices only for adults.

The key for you (and surely there are many) who do not like the sound of this story is to protest rather than continue to complain. Boycott the theaters that are exploiting to make Alice in Wonderland as a complete success. Variety quoted the report of the survey, as saying, "if consumers absorb price increases without problem, we think that bodes well for the pricing power of the exhibition industry cinema."

Therefore, they have a problem, and what will you do? And it's okay to "absorb" the higher cost?
